Exciting news! My author bio is now up on the HarperCollins Author Academy website, along with the 44 talented others who were part of the first cohort. I’m so proud to be part of such an impressive bunch - which includes business owners, Ivy-Leaguers and even a CBE!
Having just completed the inaugural Writing for Children programme with HarperCollins Author Academy, I can say with my hand on my heart that it has been one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of taking part in.
The six-week programme, which will be reopening again in the autumn, includes live lessons with a tutor, tailored and helpful resources, access to supportive and incredible mentors … and all of this within the context of conversations on race and the practical steps that can, and must, be taken to further BAME voices within publishing. I would encourage anyone from the BAME community who has even the smallest urge to write and tell stories to apply - because we need those stories, and this one small step could be the first on the path to real and significant change.
I’ve had loads of questions already about my time on the HarperCollins Author Academy and am always happy to speak to anyone who's looking to apply. Please just get in touch using the contact form and I’ll do my best to answer any questions.
You can read my full author bio here, along with my fellow students from the Class of Spring 2021 - congratulations, everyone!
